Climbing:

those of you who want a more airy challenge, we can recommend thr
over 60 routes (grades 3-7) in Molladalen, Kyrkjesteinen in Skorgeura
(grade 3-8) the steep rockface Toskefloget (grade 7-8) or one of the climbing
areas in Hjartåberga/Alldalen (grade 3-7).
In addition to the natural eldorado for climbers provided by the Sunnmørs
Alps, you will also find an indoor climbing wall in Volda. The various

The Ørsta Winter Sports Centre is located at Bondalseidet about
17 km from Ørsta Centre, and is a modern skiing resort offering
a ski lift, ski tow and children`s tow. Snow cannons, a lighted track
for cross country and alpine, ski hire. Good starting point for hanggliding
and paragliding. Advance bookings for summer activities with chair lifts
and catering. The cafè at Eitrefjellet is magnificently positioned

recommend you and your party to go out sea-fishing, go sightseeing
from the fjord or simply try a memorable and salty sea-trip. Most camping

Mountain walks:
Brudavollen
nature- and culture trail  Time:
45 mins.
Start: Brudavollen, 4 km from centre of Ørsta. Ideal for families,
well signposted with information about trees, plants and cultural monuments.
The trip can be combined with a walk to Brudavollnakken. Make some coffee
in the old hunting cabin, then head for Brudavoll mountain farm, Sandhornet
(909 m) or Grøthornet. Return over Ørsta`s ”Bessegg”,
to Brekkesetra and Helleveien. Normal sports footware. Time: 3-4 hours.
Molladalen 
Time: 2,5 hours from Barstadvik, or 5-7 hours from Ytre Standal/Romedalen.
Start: Barstadvik, Ytre Standal or Romedalen.Steep and demanding terrain.
Popular area for hiking and climbing, famous for the many jagged, wild
and spectacular peaks in such a small area. Good footware necessary.
Slogen
(1564 meters above sea level)  Time:
4 hours up, 3 hours down.
Start: Øye – Skylstad or Urke even Stranda. In part steep
and demanding. The most renowned of the Sunnmørs peaks, often called
"The Queen". Popular among hikers. The easiest route is from
Skylstadbrekka at Øye and back via Langsæterdalen to Urke.
The
Patchell Cabin (DNT), Norangsdalen
Time:
3 hours.
Start: Skylstad – Øye or Stranda. Rather steep and damanding.
Start at Skylstad/Skylstadbrekka. The cabin has been extended to sleep
23 persons. Good footware necessary.
Skårasaken
and Kvistaddalen  Time:
4-8 hours.
Start: Kvistad, follow the Årset river and than towards Kvamsedalen.
Ideal for families. Views of many wild and rugged peaks. On the left of
the valley you can see the highest peaks, known as Kvistadkjerringane
and Skårasalen (1546 m). Normal sports footware.
Skorgedalen
Time:
5-6 hours, daytrip.
Start: Skorgeura, Ørsta or Busetra, Vartdal.Ideal for families,
a moderate incline. A charming valley with old summer farms. Alternative
routes, either via Trollkoppvatn or Vasskoppen/Skålaskaret. Normal
footware.
Melshornet
(808 meters above sea level)
Time:
3 hours.
Start: Rystefeltet in Ørsta.Ideal for families, moderate incline.
Forestry track and good signed paths. Nice view towards Ørsta centre,
the fjord and to the islands. Normal sports footware.
